In Toastmasters, you learn by participating. During club meetings you can participate in many roles, and each one is a learning experience. The followigng is a brief explination of the rules you can be called upon to fulfill and tips for doing a good job. Click on the role name to get a more details.
Speakers: These people deliver speeches from the various Toastmasters Manuals. Speech Evaluators: These are more experienced Toastmasters who provide feedback on the speeches given by the speakers. General Evaluator: This person oversees the evaluation portion of the meeting and provides feedback on the entire meeting after the evaluators have spoken. Timer: This person keeps the meeting and the speakers on track by providing visual cues to the speakers to give them an idea of when to finish their speeches. Grammarian: This person pays attention to the language use throughout the meeting. They highlight the grammatical errors made as well as point of the good turns of phrase used by speakers. Table Topics Master: This person keeps members on their toes by providing material for short, impromptu speeches for those members willing to try their hand at Table Topics Table Topics Evaluator: This person provides feedback for the Table Topics Participants. Quizmaster: This person tests member's listening skills by asking questions pertaining to anything said throughout the meeting at the end of the evening.
